Leeds United release season ticket news: refunds

In a move that would catch the most Leeds-sceptic observer off balance, the club have said that under-performance the likes of which Leeds fans have endured of late, will mean that fans will be able to renew for the following season at up to 50% off net ticket price.

Riding with a strident opening of “We are more determined than ever to gain promotion from the Championship and are fully committed to doing everything we can to return this great club to the Premier League in 2016/17,” the Whites go on to say that those who renew their season tickets for next season will be recompensed should the club fail to achieve at least a play-off place.

Basically, should Leeds not reach the play-offs, those fans renewing their season tickets for 2016/17 by May 31, 2016 will receive a refund of 25% on the Net Season Ticket price (price of season ticket with VAT (20%) and Football League Levy (3%) taken off (see below).

NET SEASON TICKET PRICE
Net Season Ticket price is the Season Ticket price minus VAT (20%) and then minus the Football League Levy (3%).

Example:
Season Ticket Price – £445.00
Season Ticket Price Minus VAT (20%) – £370.83
Minus Football League Levy (3%) – £11.12
Net Season Ticket Price – £359.71

What Leeds United are saying is that if Leeds United don’t make the play-offs then fans who renew by May 31 this year will receive a 25% refund – equivalent to £89.93 based on a £445 ticket.

It gets even better for Leeds fans though, should general admission Season Ticket sales pass 15,000 in total by July 31, 2016, and Leeds fail to at least make the play-offs, then those season ticket holders could be recompensed to the sum of £179.85.

The club also announced that season tickets would be frozen for the third consecutive year with a new pricing structure also being introduced for junior supporters. The Under-11 Junior season ticket category is now available across all stands, rather than it being tied to the Family Stand only. Under-16 Junior Season Tickets will also be available with savings of up to 45% with prices ranging from £120in the Family Area to £190 in the Bremner Suite.
