Arsenal and Liverpool to battle it out for Fulham youngster

Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool are set to go head to head in a summer duel for the services of young Fulham star Ryan Sessegnon according to reports in The Mirror.

The 15 year old was targeted by Arsenal in the January transfer window with The Gunners understood to have failed with a £3 million bid for the player. That deal was also to include the loan of Arsenal midfielder Serge Gnabry to The Cottagers.

After missing out on his transfer target in January, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is set to make a further move for the player in the summer but The Gunners boss is set to face stern competition for the player’s signature with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp also thought to be an admirer of the England Under 16s star.

Sessegnon has captained the England Under 16s side and is being tipped to go on to achieve major honours in his footballing career. The left sided player has been compared to Real Madrid star Gareth Bale. Fulham hope for the player to continue to develop in their own academy and make the jump into their first team and Sessegnon is unlikely to be sold unless  the club receive a significant offer which meets their valuation.

The young winger currently plays in Fulham’s Under 18s side and has made 21 appearances to date and has scored 5 goals.
