We are now getting to that stage of the season where certain results guarantee certain end positions for teams in the Championship, League One and League Two.

There is still plenty to decide in each of those leagues and a few questions could be answered over the course of this weekend as well.

Here is our guide to this weekend, revealing if any teams can gain promotion, make a play-off place or be doomed to relegation in all three divisions.

Sky Bet Championship

Things are much clearer towards the bottom of the table, so we’ll start with that!

As we already know, Bolton Wanderers have already been relegated to League One by virtue of their defeat to play-off chasing Derby County last weekend. Whilst it is highly likely we know which two teams will join them, nothing is mathematically confirmed just yet.

No matter what happens at The Valley this weekend, Charlton Athletic will not be relegated. Even if they lose, there is the slightest of slight chances they could still survive. This is because Nottingham Forest, Rotherham United, Huddersfield Town and Blackburn Rovers, who are all just above the drop zone, face one another.

Whilst they will have their sights much higher, Middlesbrough and Burnley have at the very least earned themselves a play-off place in the Championship. Victory on Friday night for Brighton at home to Fulham will also earn them a top-six spot.

Aston Villa could seal their place in the Sky Bet Championship should they fail to win away to Manchester United. However, a point for Norwich City at home to Sunderland means that Villa will be relegated, even with an unlikely win at Old Trafford.
