It’s a long season in the Championship and a gruelling schedule. Particularly when teams are playing games at the top and the pressure is on, players can get mentally tired. Middlesbrough have so far used substitutes well. David Nugent, Adam Forshaw and Ritchie De Laet are all players that have come on or been drafted into the team on numerous occasions and done very well, with the stand out example being David Nugent’s late, late winner against rivals Hull. With Christhian Stuani banned for three matches too, Boro’s squad will need to be rotated intelligently. There are plenty of players within the ranks who can do a job as the season draws to a close and fresh legs will be all important.
