Left back James Husband has returned to his parent club Middlesbrough after making twelve appearances for the Terriers and could have a part to play in Boro’s quest for championship glory.
That is the view of Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka who has heaped praise on the 22 year old insisting he is “one more option for the team”. Speaking to the Evening Gazette Karanka also applauded Husband-who has had successful loan spells with Fulham and Huddersfield this season- for his attitude. “It’s good to have him back, he’s a really nice kid and he’s enjoyed his time a lot in Huddersfield”.
George Friend has proved difficult to dislodge and so Karanka took the decision to give Husband game time with Huddersfield who he sees as having a similar philosophy as Boro. “When we sent him there I knew that the manager (David Wagner) is a good manager. They share more or less the same philosophy and it was good for Husband as he was playing, the same way that he played against Fulham. But he’s now back with us and one of us. (He’s training) and is one more option for the team, and in this moment we need everyone with us.
“When you have a lot of games, sometimes you can have 90 minutes in your legs but now 90 minutes in your head is difficult.
“So with (Husband) we have another option. It’s good as he’s a good lad and a very good professional”.
David Wagner was also very quick to praise the full back. “James performed really well for us during his four months at the club. He has really helped us at a time when we needed a second specialist left back in our group. His attributes fitted our style and identity on the pitch”. He told the club’s website.
He also thanked Middlesbrough and manager Aitor Karanka. “I must also thank Aitor Karanka and Middlesbrough for allowing James to come and play for us.”
