Leeds United: Evans – 3 things post Burnley

On whether he felt Leeds had been hard done to.

Leeds played well in the majority of the game, recovering from a nightmare opening minute well and actually taking the game to Burnley, pressing their much higher-achieving opponents. On whether the result reflected the performance, Evans said:

“Yeah, I think I do [feel hard done to]. I feel, you know football’s a cruel game Adam. I’ve said to the players, ultimately if you switch off in football it doesn’t matter whether it’s 40 seconds or 40 minutes, you get punished.”

Building on this point, and in doing so highlighting the steps that led to Burnley’s goal, Evans elaborated:

“Young Stuart Dallas, who I thought was outstanding in spells today, switched off, lack of concentration but it punishes you and you think we’re gonna have to employ some character and we’re gonna have to do that travelling support justice.”
