Swansea City youngster joins Yeovil Town

Swansea City youngster Liam Shephard has re-joined League 2 strugglers Yeovil Town on a one month loan deal according to the Western Gazette.

The 21 year old right back joins the Somerset club for a second time after making 20 appearances for The Glovers during a loan spell at Huish Park last season prior to the club’s relegation to League 2.

Despite the Yeovil Town’s woes last season, Shephard had a hugely successful loan spell at the club and was awarded the Young Player of the Year Award.

The Pentre born full back is highly rated by parent club Swansea City and made his debut for the Swans in an FA Cup match. The player has also been named amongst the substitutes for a handful of Premier League matches. Shephard originally started his career as an academy player at Swansea City’s bitter rivals Cardiff City but moved to The Liberty Stadium in summer 2011.

Shephard joins a Yeovil Town side which has struggled towards the bottom of League 2 this season although the club’s form has seen an improvement since the New Year with The Glovers climbing off the bottom of the table and away from immediate relegation danger.

The right back is set to make his Yeovil Town debut in tomorrow’s home league fixture against Carlisle United.
