Cellino ‘set to sack’ Leeds boss Steve Evans

Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino is ‘set to sack’ Head Coach Steve Evans following Saturday’s 4-1 home defeat against Huddersfield Town, according to the Daily Mail.

The Mail reports that Cellino already has a replacement lined up for Evans, who will become the sixth Head Coach sacked by the Italian since his purchase of Leeds United.

It’s been reported that senior players within the squad have spoken to Cellino stating that they have lost confidence in Evans following the Huddersfield result, despite a run of three consecutive wins before this.

Evans could be sacked before the end of the season, and the Mail report that Cellino already has a foreign Head Coach lined up.

Having taken over from Uwe Rosler in October 2015, Evans has been unable to push Leeds up the table and they currently sit in 13th place in the Championship table.

Cellino has already sacked Brian McDermott, David Hockaday, Darko Milanic, Neil Redfearn and Uwe Rosler since taking over in January 2014.

Leeds United’s next fixture is away to Evans’ former club, Rotherham United, as the Whites look to break into the top 10 for the first time under Cellino’s ownership of the West Yorkshire club.
