York City vs Barnet FC: Match Preview

The Bees travel to Bootham Crescent where they hope to claim a fourth away win of the season this Saturday.

The home side have only managed 1 away win and 5 home wins  this season, although, the Bees have not faired much better, winning only 3 games away from home, making the clash up for grabs for both of the teams.

However, Martin Allen’s men go into the game with more confidence than the home side after a 3-0 win away at Newport on Tuesday, the Exiles first home loss in 2016.

Barnet sit in a comfortable 15th place in Sky Bet League Two, only 8 points separating them from a playoff position, having only lost two games this year.

Frontman John Akinde will be hoping to add to his tally of 13 goals which currently places him as the 7th top goalscorer in league 2.

York City will be highly disappointed after their home loss against bottom of the league Dagenham and Redbrige on Saturday.

The 1-0 defeat was a fifth successive loss for the side who sit in the relegation zone, a 6 point deficit separating them from safety.

Now only one point separates the two  teams and York will be looking to ensure they do not slip to the bottom at the weekend.

The game will be a chance for the home side to trial their recent loan deal of defensive midfielder Scott Bennett from rivals Notts County and the fresh signing should hopefully give the side a renewed sense of passion.
