Dons defender suffers injury blow

AFC Wimbledons’ on-loan defender Karleigh Osborne is likely to be ruled out for the rest of the season.

The 27-year-old was ruled out of Saturday’s clash against Luton Town following an injury (knee) which occurred during Thursday’s training.

Osborne has had spells at a number of clubs over his career including Brentford and Bristol City before signing for the Dons on loan for the season from the Robins in 2015.

The centre-back has been an influential player at Kingsmeadow this season bringing a lot of experience to the team and will be sorely missed.

Having made 25 appearances this season, the injury news comes as a blow to the club who have 5 wins out of 6 under their belt and are pushing for a play-off position.

Manager Neal Ardley has told the club website, “Karleigh’s MRI scan has shown some extra damage on top of the initial prognosis.”

“Unfortunately, the injury is worse than we first anticipated and it looks like he will not play during the run-in. He needs to have another MRI scan in three weeks to confirm the extent of the damage.”

“Karleigh had hit a great run of form before suffering the injury and all our hearts go out to him at this time.”

The Dons currently sit in 10th position in League 2. They play Barnet away at the Hive on Saturday.
