Nottingham Forest Captain predicts Premier League ‘future’ for Oliver Burke

According to the Nottingham Post, Henri Lansbury has suggested that young midfielder Oliver Burke will one day make it to the Premier League if he keeps up his impressive performances.

The 18-year-old has made 13 appearances for the Reds and scored two goals. Burke has also made 6 appearances for the Scottish U19 team where he has scored one goal.

The winger has attracted attention through his pace, making him a real threat when bolting up the pitch to deliver a cross.

Having made his professional debut for the club in 2014, Burke was loaned out to Bradford City, however, returned to make his stamp on the Championship this season.

Despite the young talent looking dangerous on the pitch, manager Dougie Freedman has previously indicated that Burke still needs nurturing considering his teenage status.

Lansbury commented to the Nottingham Post, “Oliver is a fantastic player. I would have had him in and around the team a long time before now,”

“It’s the only way young players like him realise what it means to play men’s football.”

“Oliver will play in the Premier League if he keeps up the hard work and continues to play well.”

At just 18 years-old, Burke is looking to be a bright young prospect, not just for Nottingham Forest, but for Scotland too.

Nottingham Forest currently sit in a strong 10th position in the Championship.
