Charlton closing in on South Korean international

Charlton Athletic are close to securing a loan deal for QPR’s South Korean international Yun Suk-Young, according to the Sevenoaks Chronicle.

Suk-Young, a left-back, made 23 appearances in QPR’s 2014/15 Premier League campaign. However, after suffering a serious knee injury, the South Korean missed most of the pre-season leading up to this year’s campaign, and has fallen out of favour at the club.

Having made only three appearances this season for The Hoops, the last coming in November, QPR boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink appears open to loaning out the 26-year-old, and Charlton Athletic are the club closest to securing the South Korean’s signature.

Suk-Young has featured for the South Korean national team ten times in his career in addition to his Premier League exploits. With Charlton dangling desperately in the Championship drop-zone, the experience of a player like Suk-Young could prove vital to plugging a defence which leads the Championship in goals conceded with 56.

Next up in the league, Charlton face a crucial clash at Craven Cottage against Fulham next week, before a Tuesday night trip to Deepdale and Preston North End.
