Hull City striker’s future dependant upon promotion

Hull City striker Abel Hernandez will remain with The Tigers if they achieve promotion to the Premier League this season according to the Hull Daily Mail.

The 25 year old Uruguayan has been in excellent form for Steve Bruce’s side netting 16 goals so far this season and his performances have not gone unnoticed with a number of clubs thought to be pondering over a move for the striker in the summer.

Despite the interest in the striker, Hernandez has insisted that he is happy at Hull City although the player is not ruling out a return to Italy’s Serie A or a move to a Premier League club in the future should Hull City fail to reach the top tier of English football.

Hernandez joined Hull City on a three year deal in September 2014 from Italian club Palermo for a reported club record £10 million transfer fee but struggled to adapt to the English game in his first season as Hull City were relegated to the Championship. This season the striker has finally got up to speed with the English game and the player’s good relationship with Tigers boss Steve Bruce has also contributed to a more successful season in front of goal.

Despite yesterday’s 1-0 defeat at Burnley, The Tigers still lead the Championship table on goal difference although second placed Middlesbrough do have a game in hand over Steve Bruce’s side.
