Barnet offer controversial star a second chance

League 2 club Barnet have signed disgraced former Leicester City youngster James Pearson on a non contract basis according to The Mirror.

The 23 year old right back is the son of former Leicester City Manager Nigel Pearson. The youngster was sacked by The Foxes last summer after being found guilty of taking part in a racist sex video during the club’s tour of Thailand.

Despite Pearson’s shameful Leicester City exit, League 2 club Barnet have decided to offer the youngster the opportunity to move on from his mistake and the player has signed for The Bees on non contract terms.

The Sheffield born right back started his career as a youngster at Rotherham United before being released in 2009. In September 2012, Pearson signed for his father at Leicester City but struggled to make the grade at The King Power Stadium and was loaned out to Carlisle United, Wrexham and Peterborough United.

Pearson’s sacking at Leicester City left his father’s position as Manager at the club in a precarious position and he was also dismissed just weeks later.

Barnet have enjoyed a steady first season back in the Football League following last season’s promotion from the Conference Premier. Manager Martin Allen recently confirmed that he was looking to build further stability for the club and Pearson now has the opportunity to get his career back on track at The Hive.
