Brighton sign Czech International

Brighton and Hove Albion have announced the signing of Czech Republic International Jiri Skalak.

The promotion chasers were reportedly interested in providing strikers Bobby Zamora, James Wilson and Tomer Hemed with competition, and have done just that in bringing in the former Mlada Boleslav man.

Skalak has scored 6 goals in 16 apperances for the Synot Liga outfit this season, and is capable of strengthening the Seagulls in wider areas as well, seeing as he is comfortable with playing on either wing.

The 23-year-old has made 3 apperances for the Czech national team which narrowly missed out on qualification for this summer’s notorious European Championship.

Brighton started the season off very strongly but have since taken their foot off the gas, plummiting as low as fourth in the table. They will look to revive their autmotatic promotion hopes when they take on Brentford this weekend.
