Out of favour duo released by Charlton

Charlton Athletic have confirmed the release of two first-team players from their contracts. Midfielder Franck Moussa and forward Ricardo Vaz Te have both been allowed to leave The Valley as neither feature in Jose Riga’s plans for the future.

Moussa appeared 23 times for the Addicks, whilst Vaz Te played on just eleven occasions since signing earlier this season after previously being a free agent. Both will now look for new clubs ahead of the second half of the season.

26-year-old Moussa has been with the South London club ever since joining on a free transfer in July 2014. He had previously been with Coventry City, where he played over 70 times for the Sky Blues. He has found himself mostly out-of-favour under all of the managers Charlton have employed this season, briefly coming into the team but also struggling with injuries.

Lisbon-born Vaz Te also struggled to make a serious impact with the club. He was signed by previous interim head coach Karel Fraeye after spending time training with the club. Early last year he had a taste of Turkish football with Akhisar Belediyespor. He is perhaps best known for his spells in England with Bolton Wanderers and West Ham United. In between that, had also had spells with Hibernian and Barnsley.
