Ritchie De Laet to sign for Boro

Leicester City defender Ritchie De Laet has been spotted at Middlesbrough’s Rockliffe Park Training Centre, according to Sky Sources and this adds supporting evidence to a story run by Gazette Live earlier today.

The 27-year-old has had limited playing time since The Foxes’ astonishing run in the Premier League, with former QPR and Newcastle right-back Danny Simpson often getting the nod.

De Laet, who has made 124 appearances for Leicester is expected to complete the transfer in the coming hours and secure a loan deal that will see him play at the Riverside until the end of the season.

The former Manchester United starlet, and two-cap Belgian international, has also spent time on loan League Two side Portsmouth, Preston North End, Sheffield United, and most recently in 2012, Premier League side Norwich City.

Boro’s form has slightly slipped as of late with the side dropping to second in the division, but will look to set the record straight when they take on Blackburn.
