Premier League club interested in Blackburn striker

Premier League club Watford are understood to be interested in Blackburn Rovers striker Jordan Rhodes, according to The Lancashire Telegraph.

Rhodes has been linked with a move away from Blackburn all month, but came closest to leaving the club yesterday when he passed a medical at Middlesbrough.

The striker’s move to Middlesbrough broke down yesterday, with reports indicating that the two parties could not agree on personal terms, particularly to do with a bonus should Middlesbrough win promotion.

However it is understood that Rhodes has this morning returned to Middlesbrough to try to negotiate a deal to sign for the club.  The striker arrived for training at Blackburn Rovers this morning but quickly had to leave again to return to Teesside.

Should the move still not be finalised by this evening, it is believed that Premier League side Watford are interested and could come in with a late bid.

There is only interest from the club at the moment and they haven’t followed up this interest with a bid as of yet.  If Rhodes and Middlesbrough can’t agree on a deal, Watford could jump in and sign the striker.
