Reading midfielder linked to Swansea

Reading and USA International midfielder Danny Williams has been linked with a move to Swansea, according to Sky Sports.

The box-to-box midfielder is a huge fans favourite and would be a huge loss to a squad already hindered by the departures of Orlando Sa and Nick Blackman to Maccabi Tel Aviv and Derby County respectively.

However, if Williams is to leave, that would be the most disappointing departure of the 3 as Williams as been a stand out performer since he signed from Hoffeinheim in the summer of 2013.

Williams is tenacious, a fighter and wears his heart on his sleeve every time he walks onto a football field, which has rewarded him with a place in many fans hearts in Berkshire. He also chips in with his fair share of goals, and increased his season tally to 6 with a goal against Walsall at the weekend.

McDermott was playing down any new arrivals in his post match press conference on Saturday, however, a number of vital players for Reading have been linked with moves away this window, including Jake Cooper to Stoke, Oli Norwood to Swansea, and now Danny Williams also to Swansea.

If McDermott wants to make any sort of play off push, these kind of players have to be playing week in week out for the Royals.
