Wolverhampton Wanderers seal surprise move for League 2 defender

Championship club Wolverhampton Wanderers have completed the surprise signing of young Barnet defender Hakeem Odoffin for an undisclosed fee according to Get West London.

The 17 year old is understood to have signed a two and a half year deal at Molineux with the option of a further year and will initially be part of the Under 21s set up at the West Midlands club.

Odoffin started his career as a youth team player at Tottenham Hotspur and later moved on to Reading’s youth team set up. After two years in Berkshire the defender moved to hometown club Barnet where he signed a two year scholarship with The Bees.

The youngster has made significant progress in the Barnet youth team set up and Bees Manager Martin Allen handed the youngster his senior debut in last month’s FA Cup Second Round defeat by fellow League 2 side Newport County at The Hive.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Under 21s side are currently enduring a tough year in the Barclays Premier League Under 21s Division 2 with the club failing to win any of their last eleven matches. The Under 21s side at Molineux are currently managed by former Blackburn Rovers and Bolton Wanderers midfielder Scott Sellars who held a similar role at Manchester City prior to his move to the West Midlands club.
