Alan Judge

Judge ‘angry’ by Brentford treatment

Brentford forward Alan Judge is said to be ‘angry’ with the club over the excessive transfer fee placed upon him, according to Sky Sports. The Republic of Ireland international feels as though it will price him out of a potential move away from the club in the summer. The club are supposedly not willing to enter new contracts talks based on his new valuation.

The 27-year-old has been in-demand for some time and fellow Championship clubs have already shown their hands. Burnley and Sheffield Wednesday have had bids rejected, because they fell below the £8million asking fee. The Bees top scorer featured and scored in the weekend victory over Preston North End, whilst Toumani Diagouraga is set to move to Leeds United and James Tarkowski wasn’t involved.

Judge is therefore becoming increasingly frustrated at the treatment he is being given by his current club. In the past they did suggest they would be willing to discuss a new contract, however since the £8million valuation has come in fruition, the club have stalled of any improved terms in that deal.

The Brentford hierarchy are also unwilling to alter their asking price and although Judge had seemingly been prepared to stay with the club for the rest of the season, this may force him to try and leave this month. He is playing regular football ahead of Euro 2016 in the summer, where he hopes to be in Martin O’Neill’s final squad, but he’ll hope to avoid being frozen out just as Tarkowski has in recent weeks.

It remains to be seen if Sean Dyche or Carlos Carvalhal will return with improved offers, or if any other club declare their interest, perhaps a Premier League club with better finances. Nevertheless, he is still performing on the pitch but Brentford are desperately keen to keep him, or receive a good price if they don’t.
