Bantams striker to join Fleetwood Town

Fleetwood Town have signed striker Devante Cole from League 1 rivals Bradford City according to the Telegraph & Argus.

The 20 year old striker is understood to have joined Fleetwood Town on a permanent deal and details of the transfer fee remain undisclosed at this stage. As part of the deal, Fleetwood Town striker Jamie Proctor will move in the opposite direction and will join The Bantams on loan for one month.

Cole is the son of former Newcastle United and Manchester United legend Andy Cole. The youngster is a product of Manchester City’s academy although the striker never made a senior appearance for the former Premier League Champions.

While at Manchester City Cole enjoyed a loan spell at Barnsley where he scored 7 goals in 23 appearances before being later loaned out to MK Dons where he scored 3 goals in 14 appearances.

The youngster was released by Manchester City in the summer and joined Bradford City on a two year deal. Cole has scored 6 goals this season for The Bantams but has struggled for a starting place in Phil Parkinson’s side in recent weeks and the Bradford City boss has decided to sell the striker and bring in Jamie Proctor to freshen up his attacking options.

Bradford City travel to Vale Park tomorrow to face Port Vale while Fleetwood Town entertain Doncaster Rovers.
