Middlesbrough are interested in a whole host of strikers, reports the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Boro have had a bid rejected for Fulham star Ross McCormack, but are expected to come back with another offer.

The first bid was thought to be in the region of £8m, but the Teeside club remain keen on the Scotland international as they look to add firepower to their frontline.

The 29 year old signed for Fulham in 2014 from Leeds for a fee of £11m.

The West London club are under a transfer embargo and fear that if they were to lose McCormack, it would seriously damage their hopes for the season.

McCormack already has 15 goals this season.

However, he is only the tip of Boro’s list of attacking targets.

The Championship leaders are also said to be interested in Blackburn star Jordan Rhodes and Crystal Palace frontman Dwight Gayle.

Rhodes is also said to be interesting Sheffield Wednesday and his signature would be a huge signal of intent for any Championship club.

With interest in all three frontmen, Boro look set to strengthen with the signing of at least one this January.

This would be a huge boost to them on their quest for promotion, as they already lie top of the second tier by two points, with a game in hand over Hull in second.
