Blackburn Chasing Sunderland Striker

Blackburn Rovers are looking into the possibility of signing Sunderland striker Danny Graham on-loan until the end of the season according to Sky Sports.

Rovers boss Paul Lambert wants to take the 30-year old to Ewood Park but the Championship club are unwilling to pay his £35,000-a-week wages having just come out of a transfer embargo.

Graham moved to Sunderland from Swansea in 2013 costing the Black Cats £5million but the move has failed to catch light with Graham scoring just one goal for the Premier League club and has been loaned to Hull, Middlesbrough and Wolves in the last two years.

With wages potentially a stumbling block for Rovers, Lambert has admitted he is on the look-out for an experienced striker to partner top-scorer Jordan Rhodes in attack.

Lambert told reporters; “Sometimes you need a street fighter in this league to get you up the pitch, who knows how to take the ball, and who knows how to get hold of the ball.

“I think that’s something we need so we’ll see if there’s somebody out there who can give us a hand.”

Blackburn are 17th in the Sky Bet Championship with 28 points from 24 games and travel to second-bottom Charlton at the weekend.
