Derby Country striker Mason Bennett has today joined Burton Albion on-loan until the end of the season.

The nineteen year-old is reunited with former Rams’ manager Nigel Clough at League One leaders Burton as the club look to continue their push for Championship football next season.

Bennett was handed his professional debut by Clough at the iPro Stadium in 2011, making him the club’s youngest ever first-team player at fifteen years and ninety nine days old.

Bennett has not featured for Derby this term, but has scored four goals in 14 games for their Under-21 side.

“It’s a great opportunity for me to be here,” said Bennett.

“I know the staff well here. They gave me my debut at 15 so hopefully I’ll have more success here with them.”

Bennett could feature for Burton as the Brewers travel to Coventry City tomorrow afternoon.
