Brentford v Burnley – Match Preview

An ongoing fight for promotion is on the agenda at Griffin Park this evening as Championship Play Off chasers Brentford and Burnley fight it out for a huge 3 points in West London.

The Bees go into the crucial promotion clash on the back of three straight defeats, all of which have been by the odd goal. Tuesday’s narrow home defeat to league leaders Middlesbrough was unfortunate with an error from goalkeeper David Button contributing to the only goal of the match.

Dean Smith’s side will again be without long term absentees Scott Hogan and Andreas Bjelland while the match will come too soon for midfielder Lewis MacLeod after his recent hamstring injury.

Burnley go into the match in excellent form and could go third with victory over The Bees. Sean Dyche’s side have recorded two superb victories this week, beating Middlesbrough on their own turf in the FA Cup Third Round last Saturday and recording a 5-0 drubbing of MK Dons in midweek.

The Clarets travel to Griffin Park without Dean Marney, Michael Duff, Lukas Jutkiewicz and Ashley Barnes through injury and boss Sean Dyche is likely to field the same starting 11 which saw off the challenge of MK Dons in midweek.

The match kicks off at 7.45pm this evening and will be screened live on Sky Sports.
