Exeter City’s goalscoring FA Cup hero Tom Nichols is being chased by a quartet of League 1 clubs, according to Exeter Express and Echo.
Nichols scored the first goal in The Grecians’ famous 2-2 draw with Premier League giants Liverpool at St James’ Park in the FA Cup Third Round on Friday night and his performance did not go unnoticed with League 1 quartet Barnsley, Coventry City, Sheffield United and Wigan Athletic all now showing an interest in signing the young striker.
The 22 year old was awarded the man of the match award for his performance against Jurgen Klopp’s young Liverpool side and television pundits were predicting that the striker is destined to play at a higher level in the not so distant future.
Nichols is The Grecians’ top scorer this season having scored 8 goals in all competitions. The striker also netted 15 times for the club last season.
The player is a product of City’s famed youth academy which has also produced the likes of George Friend, Dean Moxey and Matt Grimes in recent years.
It is understood that Peterborough United Manager Graham Westley could also make a move for Nichols should The Posh lose star striker Conor Washington during this month’s transfer window.
