Blackburn to sell midfielder with Barnsley and Bury interested

Blackburn Rovers are set to sell midfielder John O’Sullivan, with Bury and Barnsley interested, according to The Sun.

O’Sullivan, 22, has failed to nail down his place in the Blackburn Rovers first team since making his professional debut for the club in May 2013, and often finds himself not even on the substitutes bench.

The midfielder has been out on loan from Rovers four times, most recently to Rochdale earlier this season where O’Sullivan made two appearances.  The midfielder’s most successful loan spell was arguably out to Accrington Stanley, where he scored four goals in 13 appearances for the League Two side.

O’Sullivan’s lack of first team football has led to interest from Bury and also Barnsley, another club where the attacking midfielder spent time on loan.

It is understood that Bury are keen on a permanent deal, which Rovers are happy to go along with having just come out of a transfer embargo.  Barnsley want to loan O’Sullivan again.  It is believed that Bury are more likely to secure the signing.
