Manchester United youngster Ashley Fletcher will join The Tykes on a one month youth loan.

The 20 year old has impressed in the United development side, having made 7 appearances this season and scoring 3 goals.

On joining The Tykes, Fletcher has said, “I’m buzzing to be here”

The promising forward joins Barnsley seeking the opportunity to ruffle defences and prove his goal scoring abilities.

“I’ve come to get some league experience and help improve the team,” the Yorkshire born striker expressed.

Fletcher looks set to make his debut for the club against Fleetwood in this weekend’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy match.

Fletcher shared his delight on the news over Twitter.

“I’m looking forward to this weekend. Fleetwood are a good side and it will be a good test but with the quality we’ve got here, I’m sure we can do the business.”

“Having trained with the lads this morning, I can see the quality that they bring to the Club.”

The Striker will join The Tykes top goal scorer Sam Winnall in their quest to move up the league table. Barnsley are currently in 17th position in League One.
