Bournemouth and Sunderland are both interested in signing Queens Park Rangers defender Steven Caulker, who is currently on loan at Southampton, according to The Daily Mail.
QPR signed Caulker in July 2014 but the defender could do nothing to prevent the club being relegated back to the Championship at the end of the 2014-15 season. This relegation prompted Caulker to sign for Southampton on loan in order to carry on playing Premier League football.
Although the defender is still out on loan, it is understood that QPR are willing to sell Caulker for the right price in the current transfer window.
Bournemouth and Sunderland are both teams looking to beat the drop this season and are looking for more defensive options in order to do this. Caulker has proven himself to be a solid option at centre-back during his time in the Premier League with Swansea City.
The defender has not played much at Southampton and may be open to a move in order to get more first team football.
