Bristol City set to sign French youngster

Bristol City are set to sign young Chateauroux striker Arnold Paul Garita, according to The Bristol Post.

Upon completion of the deal for the Cameroon born striker it is understood that the 20 year old will train and play for The Robins’ Under 21 squad while he settles into English football.

Bristol City have struggled to add to last season’s promotion winning squad having missed out on a number of transfer targets.

The club have now widened their scouting network to Western Europe in an attempt to sign additional talent to push them up the Championship table away from relegation trouble.

Garita made his debut for Chateauroux as a 17 year old prior to signing a professional contract at the French Third Division side. The pint sized striker has scored 6 goals in 26 appearances for the French club.

The 20 year old’s impressive start to his career has resulted in the player being watched by a number of top clubs with Wolfsburg, Arsenal and Newcastle United all said to be scouting the striker but none of these clubs have made an offer for the player.

Bristol City travel to The Hawthorns to face West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup Third Round on Saturday however Garita is not expected to feature in the match for The Robins.
