Rawson to remain at Rotherham for rest of season

Farrend Rawson will stay on loan at Rotherham United from Derby County until the end of the season after the two clubs agreed an extension. The centre back has become a key player in the Rotherham back four and has also scored two goals this season as well.

The 19-year-old initially joined the Millers on loan towards the end of last season and extended that deal over the summer, meaning he could start this season at AESSEAL New York Stadium. The official Derby County website confirms that there is a 24-hour recall clause in the contract should the Rams wish to bring him back to the iPro Stadium at any time.

Rotherham manager Neil Redfearn told the official club website that although the player is still learning the game, he is only going to get better and better,

“Young Faz has done really well.

Faz has been impressive when he has played; he is a talented young lad with a long career in front of him.

He has been here a while now, he was here for a spell last season, so he knows all about us and we know all about him.

He is still learning his trade in what is a tough division but he has done really well. The more games that he gets under his belt, the better he is going to be at this level.”

Just like earlier in the season, Rawson will be unable to face his parent club when the two sides meet in again on Saturday 12th March 2016. The Derby Academy graduate has yet to make his first-team debut at Derby County, but has been involved in matchday squads.
