Championship club Hull City, who currently sit 3rd in the Sky Bet Championship table on 44 points have today confirmed that on-loan Arsenal player Isaac Hayden is returning to the Emirates after his loan deal was cancelled with six months left to run, according to various sources including the Hull Daily Mail.

Youngster Hayden was signed by the Tigers on a season-long loan deal from current Premier League leaders Arsenal before the start of the 2015/16 Championship season. However, a lack of first team football for the 20-year-old is thought to have caused Arsenal to trigger a recall option to bring the talented young defender back to the Emirates Stadium.

Hayden featured regularly in City’s in this season’s Capital One Cup but has not started a Championship game since the 1-0 loss to Brighton in September. Tigers’ manager Steve Bruce confirmed the move and also expressed his disappointment at losing the England youth international. Speaking on this matter, Bruce said,

“Isaac wants to play and I haven’t been able to play him enough. The form of Meyler and Livermore has been excellent so he’s found himself restricted. I’m disappointed and sad that we’re losing him because I do believe he could have played a big part in the second half of the season but he wants to play now. I can’t give him that. He goes back with our best wishes. It hasn’t really worked out for him because of other players in form.” Hull Daily Mail: December 31, 2015

It is thought that Arsenal will likely send the youngster back out on loan to the Championship in order to gain more first team football experience.
