Premier League side eye-up January move for Hull defender

Hull City could be set to lose Curtis Davies in January according to The Mirror, with Premier League Bournemouth preparing a bid to sign the defender.

The centre-back’s contract at the KC Stadium is set to expire at the end of the season, meaning the Championship club may be willing to let him go in the upcoming winter window to avoid losing him on a free in the summer.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has pinpointed Davies as a potential signing as The Cherries attempt to secure their Premier League status.

However, Hull boss Steve Bruce will not want to lose the Englishman with his side pushing for promotion back to the top flight at the first time of asking. Bruce will have to decide whether to cash in on the £3million-rated star or offer him a new deal.

30-year-old Davies joined the Tigers from Birmingham City in 2013 and has made 74 appearances for the club. His other previous clubs include Aston Villa and West Brom.

Hull kept up the pressure on the clubs at the top of the league last night with a 2-1 win at home against Reading. On Saturday, they face an away trip to Neil Redfearn’s Rotherham United side.
