Leeds United’s Steve Evans talks players

Ahead of Saturday’s visit of East Yorkshire rivals Hull City, who will make the relatively short haul up the A63 and M62, Steve Evans gave a press conference where among other things, the Leeds United head coach spoke about players.

Three things from Steve Evans

      1. Comings, goings and evaluations

Steve Evans was talking about the way that his evaluation of the team is almost complete and what this could mean for the outlook regarding players currently at Leeds United.

“Whether we go trying to get people into the football club which we need to do and whether perhaps one or two need to move on and perhaps we need to consider that too.”

       2. Strengthening the squad

As well as talking about the finalising of his evaluation of Leeds United’s strengths and weaknesses, Steve Evans also said that the club were definitely in the January hunt for squad strengthening come the opening of the transfer window.

“We hope to b able to do some business in January.”

       3. Return of a prodigal son to Elland Road

The Leeds United head coach was also asked about what kind of reception Leeds United old boy Robert Snodgrass would get on the return to his old stomping ground.

“I think he will get welcomed. I think the Leeds United supporters in general tend to do that. I think they give a warm reception and then they want to beat them.”

It could very well be a long, hard slog for Leeds United come tomorrow at 3 o’clock as the 17th-placed Whites face the 4th-placed Tigers in a game that could very well become a mauling. Amid supposed protests against Massimo Cellino’s stewardship of Leeds United and a newly-instigated ‘Pie Tax’ in the South Stand, Leeds United will have to up their game in what will likely be a feisty game.
