League Two leaders Plymouth Argyle look set to sign Brighton’s young goalkeeper Christian Walton on loan until January, according to The Herald.
With Argyle’s number one stopper Luke McCormick out of action with a groin injury, the club have moved quickly to bring in the England under-20 man who is also a product of Plymouth’s youth academy.
Walton is no stranger to League Two football, having played six games on loan at Bury earlier this season before having his stay cut short due to injury.
If the signing is complete in the next 24 hours as expected, Walton will go straight into the Plymouth squad for Saturday’s Devon derby with Exeter.
Plymouth find themselves at the top of League Two after 17 games, five points cleared of second-placed Oxford United.
