Reading boss on Fulham’s radar

Reading manager Steve Clarke is believed to be high on Fulham’s wanted list to become their new manager, according to reports.

Clarke, currently in charge of play-off chasing Reading, is one of three managers on their shortlist alongside current bookies favourite Nigel Pearson and Exeter City’s Paul Tisdale.

As quoted by Get West London, a Fulham insider told the Sun that “the club is looking for a long-term appointment. There’s nothing to choose between these three.”

Last month, Clarke was believed to have been chased by Premier League Sunderland prior to appointing Sam Allardyce as manager on a two-year-deal – a story he rebuffed at the time.

Losing Clarke would be a bitter blow to Reading, who only took charge at the Madejski Stadium 11 months ago.

Following an excellent start to this season, however, the club currently sit 8th in the championship table without a win in their last five games.
