Football League to hold embargo talks with Blackburn and Fulham

The Football League are set to hold talks with Championship clubs this week over transfer embargoes and Financial Fair Play rules, according to The Sun.

The talks with Blackburn Rovers and Fulham will be of particular interest as both clubs look to avoid an embargo, despite losses that should perhaps warrant such a restriction.

Blackburn Rovers are already under transfer embargo but owners Venky’s believe that this will be lifted, leaving newly-appointed manager Paul Lambert free to make additions to his squad in January.

Fulham are not currently under embargo but there are rumours of heavy losses since being relegated, which could signal a transfer ban if they have not complied with Financial Fair Play rules.

The only other Championship club currently under transfer embargo are Nottingham Forest, who were banned from transfers along with Blackburn Rovers and Leeds United in December 2014.
