Aussie international unsure of QPR future under Neil Warnock

Massimo Luongo has admitted he fears being left out in the cold at QPR under Neil Warnock, according to Get West London.

Luongo, an Australian international who impressed at the 2015 Asian Cup, was a big-money summer signing from League One Swindon Town, although he now admits his future at QPR is in doubt, if Warnock is to stay in charge.

Luongo, who has been left out of the last two match day squads, has admitted to Get West London that the change at the helm has left him alert to the danger of being left in the cold. However, the Australian international has vowed to fight for his place in the side, telling Get West London: “I just keep doing what I’m doing, and if he wants to pick me then he can pick me.”

The combative midfielder was considered a coup for QPR in the summer, having been linked with Premier Division sides, particularly Aston Villa.

Luongo may still have a successful QPR future however, with the west London club appearing to still be in the hunt for a new boss and Warnock only in the role on an interim basis.

The club have been linked with Rangers boss Mark Warburton, although he has distanced himself from the vacancy. Sky Bet make ex Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson favourite for the job, but also think Warnock has a chance of landing it permanently, offering 4/1 odds of him getting the job.

Other managers to have been linked with the job include Tim Sherwood and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
