Wagner on bringing Dortmund pressing to Huddersfield Town

New Huddersfield Town head coach David Wagner has spoken about bringing the pressing game of Borussia Dortmund to Huddersfield Town and what this will mean for the football club going forward.

Wagner spoke of the ‘pressing’ football that Jürgen Klopp and Dortmund became famous for in his first press conference and outlined his aims to bring a similar style to Huddersfield Town.

For anyone thinking that this style would be impossible to implement due to the differences between Dortmund and Huddersfield, Wagner was quick to mention that all Dortmund teams played in the same way.  This includes the club’s second team, which Wagner managed from 2011 until he left his role earlier this month.

Whether Huddersfield Town are capable of playing with the high intensity that Borussia Dortmund did under Jürgen Klopp remains to be seen, however this is definitely the goal of new boss David Wagner.
