Brighton looking to maintain unbeaten run

Championship table toppers Brighton and Hove Albion will be hoping to increase their 12 match unbeaten run as they face Preston at The Amex on Saturday.

Chris Hughton’s side, who are the only club to boast an unbeaten start to the season in England’s top four leagues, will also want to continue their impressive record at home. The Seagulls have only failed to pick up maximum points at The Amex on one occasion this season in a 1-1 draw against Cardiff. Brighton will also be pleased by summer signing Bobby Zamora’s recent eye for goal, the former England international has grabbed two late goals to secure all 3 points against Leeds and Bristol City.

However, Brighton do face a test Preston side who will be buoyant following their 3-0 away victory against fellow strugglers Charlton on Tuesday night. Hughton warned his side of the threat that the away team will pose, “they are probably on the back of their best result of the season” said Hughton to Brighton’s club website. He also went on to add “we will have to concentrate and play how we have done to get the three points.”

Like Brighton, the newly promoted side will be encouraged by their talisman’s recent brace at The Valley. Similar to Zamora, Paul Gallagher’s start to the season has been ravaged by injury. However two wonderfully executed goals on Tuesday, one being a pinpoint free kick, could kick-start his goal tally for the season. Brighton will need to be aware of the threat the Scot could pose if they are looking to maintain their impressive promotion push.
