Yesterday, Preston suffered yet another loss at the hands of Sheffield Wednesday.
The Lilywhites travelled to Hillsborough hoping to at least come away with something but in the end, they came away with absolutely nothing. After holding on for 45 minutes, some dire defending gifted Wednesday their first goal through Kieran Lee, who slotted home just before the break.
Daniel Pudil doubled the home sides lead on 55 minutes and although Alan Browne pulled one back for Preston with 15 minutes left in the game, they couldn’t find an equaliser and Lewis McGugan even managed to increase the Owls lead in the dying minutes of the game.
It leaves PNE second from bottom and having gone eight games without a win. Here is how Twitter reacted to that 3-1 loss:
Mainly there was a lot of talk about the manager, Simon Grayson. Fans are currently torn on whether to back or sack the man who took them up from League 1. Some fans called for his head –

If Grayson doesn't start getting results, it's time to go. Just simply not good enough #pnefc

However, there was also a large number of fans who believe that Grayson should be given more time and that he shouldn’t get the sack –
It's frustrating to not be winning but I'd definitely not rush into considering #Grayson's future at #pnefc. See where we are in Jan/Feb 1st

Must be one of the only fans that thinks it would be stupid to sack Grayson 11 games into the season #pnefc

There was also a lot of talks about the strikers from PNE fans. The Lilywhites are STILL waiting for a striker to score one goal for them this season and here is the response from one of the fans –
why can our strikers just not seem to be able to get the ball in the net! Had chances that should have been scored but missed! #pnefc

Finally, the defence was also handed a lot of criticism for their performance yesterday. Here are some of the tweets –
Just seen the goals from yesterday. What the hell was the defending for the first two. Basic errors, absolute shambles #pnefc
