York City welcome young striker

League Two side, York City, have signed Oldham Athletic striker Rhys Turner on loan, according to the club’s official website.

The 20-year-old has scored for the Latics three times in 25 appearances and will be available for selection when York welcome Carlisle on Saturday.

The forward has already made eight appearances for Oldham this season but has joined the League Two side on a youth loan.

York currently lie 17th in the table and Oldham parted company with manager, Darren Kelly, following last week’s disappointing defeat to Peterborough.

Interim manager, David Dunn, will be in charge for Saturday’s game at Doncaster while York look to stretch their unbeaten run to three games.
