Fulham’s Fredericks to miss Owls trip

Fulham have announced that defender Ryan Fredericks will miss the Saturday’s trip to face Sheffield Wednesday.

The 22-year-old was signed from Bristol City in the summer and made his debut as a substitute in last weekend’s win over Blackburn Rovers – but has picked up a knock since. The injury has ruled him out of any action at Hillsborough.

When asked Fulham manager Kit Symons said: “Ryan will not be fit.”

Before adding: “He’s had a slight issue that’s been rumbling on for a little bit of time and it sort of flared up a little when he came on on Sunday. We fitness tested him today and it’s not quite right.”

“We’re trying to let that settle down – it’s nothing bad at all, it’s something he’s had pre-existing that’s been rumbling on so we’ll use this time now to let it settle down completely and, touch wood, get him 100 per cent fully fit”

Fellow Fulham defenders Shaun Hutchinson and Nikolay Bodurov also face late fitness tests ahead of the game.

“There’s a couple of slight niggles. Shaun hurt his toe in training the other day so he’s not been able to train today. Niko came off at the end of training looking a bit sore, so we’re waiting to get assessments on them” Symons stated.
