MK Dons will improve says Karl Robinson

MK Dons manager Karl Robinson believes that his side will improve as the league campaign goes on and holds no frustrations at Tuesday night’s 2-1 defeat to Burnley, the Milton Keynes Citizen reports.

Two great strikes from Sam Vokes and George Boyd meant that the Dons walked away from Turf Moor with no points. Milton Keynes now sit 17th in the Sky Bet Championship table with seven points after seven games.

Speaking after his side’s defeat, the Milton Keynes Citizen quotes Robinson as saying “I believe in them and what we do. We’re the underdogs in all the games. All we can do is believe and it will turn.

“When you look at the stats, the game was very even. For a team who just won promotion, to play the way we did was very brave. We looked naive at times, but that’ll come with time.

“The away fixtures don’t come much harder than Reading, Middlesbrough and Burnley away. We’ve taken tremendous pride in our performances, and I promise you: we will get better.”

The one criticism that Robinson had of the game was the referee, who he claims got some key decisions wrong. “Bowditch had hold of the defender, and he had hold of Bowditch,” says the Dons boss, “Bowditch has gone around him, the defender has thrown himself to the ground and pulled Bowds down – it’s a penalty.

“We saw fouls all over the pitch like that all night and no free kicks were given. But the big decision didn’t go our way.”

MK Dons next host Leeds United on Saturday, with Leeds losing their first game of the season to Ipswich Town on Tuesday night.
