Leeds new boy debut in doubt

Leeds United face Brentford this afternoon at Elland Road, manager Uwe Rosler’s former club. With a new signing nicknamed ‘The Wizard’ Leeds fans are excited about possibly seeing their new signing in action.

Jordan Botaka, the transfer deadline day signing from Dutch side Excelsior is the man Leeds fans are excited about. The DR Congo international has had the views on his videos on YouTube go through the roof with Leeds fans desperate to see what they’re new signing can bring.

However despite his clear talent Uwe Rosler, speaking the the Leeds United official YouTube channel has confirmed he is not assured of a place in the match day squad.

He said ‘Obviously our new signing Jordan. We have to assess him because he has not trained for a while. He did his medical ten days ago and then travelled to Africa, has not played, came back on time.

‘So we have to assess him he is in the big squad for tomorrow but we will have to assess tomorrow morning after he has slept the night’

After traveling to the Central African Republic this week it’s clear to me that Rosler has a point. He has not yet had a full week training with the club. With the club being unbeaten so far this season should Rosler bring in a new player who has had around 4 days training with his new team?

Botaka will be desperate to play for his new club, not only because he wants to make a name for himself but because Brentford boss Marinus Dijkhuizen was previously boss at Botaka’s former club Excelsior.
