LIVE BLOG: Leeds United vs Brentford

Leeds United enter this game unbeaten since the start of the 2015/16 Championship season – a win and four draws giving the Whites seven points. They will be testing this improvement against Brentford as the Bees come to buzz around Elland Road. Leeds haven’t won at Elland Road since March 4th this year, could it all be about to change?

There is a ripple of wonderment and a smidge of panic in news that exciting winger Jordan Botaka could well be in line for a cameo debut after his Deadline Day signing from Dutch Eredivise side Excelsior, this being balanced by news of an ‘injury’ in camp. Speculation is mounting but the general mode of panic seems to be that it is three-in-three striker Chris Wood who is the injured party. Whilst this is unconfirmed, the club not releasing any information, if this is the case then it would be a massive blow for Leeds.

Brentford will present a good test for Leeds United and are a volume passing and ball-hogging team who look to stamp their game on opponents. However, despite these traits, there are things that Leeds United can do to overcome what will be a good test from Brentford, a team who finished 5th last season, losing 3-0 in the play-offs to Middlesbrough.

Here at The72, we’ll be bringing you updates throughout the day – stay tuned.
