Reading striker confident the goals will come

Reading’s summer signing Orlando Sa has told getreading that he feels he will find his shooting boots for the Royals this season.

Sa, 27, joined Reading after an impressive season for Polish side Legia Warsaw. After four league games without a goal the striker ended his goalscoring duck last weekend in the 3-1 win over Brentford at Griffin Park.

The one time Portugal international told getreading he thinks more goals are just around the corner:

“If the team continues to play like that I will have more opportunities to score.

“Sometimes people speak about strikers saying they need to score more, but sometimes you need to see if the strikers are getting the opportunities to score. If he doesn’t then it’s difficult. The striker can’t do everything.

“But I will try to help the team with my quality and hopefully score more goals.”

The win at Griffin Park was Reading’s first of the season and in a much improved performance Steve Clarke’s side showed signs that the summer signings were starting to gel into the team.

Last season, in his only full season at the Legia Warsaw, Sa netted 13 goals from 26 appearances, putting the forward in the top ten goalscorers in the top tier of Polish football.

The forward, who started his career at Braga, has been training with the rest of Reading’s non-international players as they prepare to face Ipswich Town on Friday evening.
