Fulham have confirmed that their midweek clash with Wolves which was due to be played on Wednesday 16th September at Craven Cottage has been rescheduled.
The match has been moved after Chelsea’s Champions League group stage tie with Maccabi Tel Aviv was scheduled to be played on the 16th last week by UEFA. The Championship game has been on that date since the fixtures were released back in June, but UEFA did not take this into account when scheduling the match.
With QPR also playing on the 16th, Metropolitan Police and the local Safety Advisory Group raised concerns with all three Football League clubs from the west end playing on the same evening. With worries over operational and logistical issues the match at Craven Cottage has been rearranged.
In Fulham’s statement that say every effort was made to keep the fixture on the 16th, but to the disappointment of the both Fulham, Wolves and also the Football League the Championship game had to suffer.
The meeting will now take place on Tuesday 29th September, kick-off 7:45.
Fulham and Wolves fans on twitter voiced clear anger at the decision:
@OfficialWolves @football_league disgraceful behaviour. “Oh yeah we’ve put a bigger game on, you’ll have to move”. Not your fault but still.

Absolutely fuming at this @FulhamFC news! Now can’t make this game as it clashes with PCA Awards…12 days notice, pathetic @football_league

@FulhamFC @OfficialWolves So glad I am no longer a ST holder. What a waste of money it would have been. — Heather Chidgey (@chidgecook) September 4, 2015
