Barnsley hope White will be alright

Barnsley have delved into Non-League to add to their squad by signing striker Harry White from Gloucester, the club’s website has confirmed.

White, 20, joined the National League North side in October 2014 and had an impressive first season at the club scoring nine goals in 17 appearances for the Tigers.

Tykes boss Lee Johnson was happy to add White to his squad. He told the club’s official website:

“We are pleased to welcome Harry on board. He is a player with good potential and I’m looking forward to keeping an eye on his progress under Paul Heckingbottom within our development squad.”

“This is a fantastic place for young players like Harry as there is a genuine pathway into the first team.”

Barnsley have been relatively active in the summer window bringing in Marley Watkins, Alfie Mawson, Conor Wilkinson, Ben Pearson, Dan Crowley, Reece Wabara and Kadeem Harris.

The Tykes have made an average start to the season with seven points from their opening five games and sit 12th in the table.
